CADELL MAKES PERFECT START

Killeen Glebe graduate CADELL justified strong market support to make a winning debut at Lanarkshire point-to-point for owner/trainer Ronnie Bartlett.

Sent off favourite for Saturday’s maiden, the son of Mahler was ridden patiently by Nick Orpwood and produced a fine leap at the last. Running on strongly on the run-in, he led close home and kept on to win by a length and a half, going away.

Speaking after the race, the winning rider said, “It took a while for the penny to drop but he winged the last and flew home.”

Cadell was bought by Killeen Glebe with Mags O’Toole as a foal and was resold by Killeen Glebe at the Goffs Land Rover Sale to Ian Ferguson.
